Calling all RISING College Students! We’re headed up to Camp Vesper Point for an outrageously classic weekend of hangs and fun, as we draw near to the Lord together. The weekend will be filled with worship, talks, and fellowship amongst friends old and new, so come join us for what is sure to be a memorable weekend – the FIRST EVER Rising College Winter Retreat!

Want to learn a little bit more about RISING Church, our beliefs and our staff? Then we would love to have you over for lunch to get to know you and for you to get to know us! “Connection Lunch” is an informal time designed for newcomers to RISING Church to meet with the pastoral staff in a smaller more personal setting. It’s an opportunity to meet and get to know each other, talk a little bit about who we are as a church family, and answer any questions you may have. Lunch is on us so bring the whole family! ALTAER Christmas Party

This year’s ALTAER Christmas party is going to be a formal one, with students dressing up in their Sunday best, going out to eat at Kani House, a local hibachi restaurant, then having a gift exchange. Students can feel free to wear what they would normally wear to a homecoming or other formal occasion, and be sure to bring enough money to pay for a meal at Kani House, as well as a $5-$10 dollar wrapped gift.

We will be meeting at the Wild Timber clubhouse at 6, carpooling to the restaurant, the heading back to the clubhouse after the meal to do a gift exchange game and have some snacks! This is a night where we can come together, laugh, sing, dance, and have a great time before everyone goes off to enjoy their Christmas Break. This is one of the best nights of the year, so don’t miss it!

Surge Christmas Party

December means it’s time for our annual Christmas parties! This year’s SURGE party will be happening at the NGHS chorus room from 6:30-8, complete with Christmas games, a gift exchange, Christmas snacks, and more. We’re asking each student to bring a gift that costs between $5-$10 for the gift exchange.

This is a time for all of us to gather together one last time before the semester ends and everyone goes on their Christmas breaks. Be sure to come out and bring a friend, as this is guaranteed to be an amazing and fun evening!

FH2H Ornament Sale

This Christmas give a gift with meaning. From Hunger To Hope is excited to partner with Haiti Child Sponsorship to bring you this new ornament below. Each one will cost $80 and will FEED ONE child for an entire year. Additionally, Haitian artisans are being supported by this effort. The ornaments will be available, along with gift cards and other ornaments (varying prices) at the missions table located in the lobby of the theater at North Gwinnett High School every Sunday in December. For those of you who pre-ordered, your ornaments will be ready for pick up at the missions table as well.

In addition to our ornament sale we have an additional opportunity to donate on Christmas Eve. The entire offering on Christmas Eve will support our MobilePack.

RISING College Christmas Gala

On December 14th we’re celebrating the end of finals and the start of our Christmas holiday with the first annual RISING College Christmas Gala – think Christmas formal, but all grown up. We will head out to a nice meal at the Mall of Georgia Kani House and return to the Tillers’ for dessert and a classic RISING gift exchange. To make things easiest on everyone, we will have everyone cover their own check at the restaurant. This registration is solely meant to provide us with an accurate number for dinner reservations and desserts at the Tillers’ afterwards. Bring a date or a friend, a gift under $10, and be looking closely at the Rising College Instagram (@risingcollege_) for details, updates, as well as how to sign up.

December Prayer Meeting

With so much happening at RISING and with Christmas & the start of 2019 right around the corner, would you consider joining us in prayer on Tuesday, December 18th at 7:30pm? Do you long to see God work in powerful ways both in us and through us at RISING? Do you really believe that God is able to do abundantly more than all we ask or imagine in our individual and corporate church life? Then why don’t you join us at this church-wide prayer meeting as we Ask, Seek and Knock. Whether you are comfortable or not with group prayer, we want to invite everyone to join us for this special time lifting up RISING in prayer.

Out of Darkness

This mission encounter is designed to educate and inform participants on who, what, and the how of sex trafficking in Atlanta. Participants will learn how they can get involved with helping in the reach, rescue & restore process through the ministry of Out of Darkness. We will serve and eat meals with the ladies at the safe houses and plan and participate in an art therapy project with the ladies. We will serve in adopting a room at the new safe house to paint, decorate, and set up. We will be trained and go on a Princess Night outreach to an area of street prostitution in Atlanta.

RISING Kids Keep In Touch

At RISING Kids it is our goal to partner with parents to grow your child into a deeper more vibrant relationship with Jesus. Two ways to foster this relation are through our weekly newsletter and text messages. If you have not yet, please subscribe to our RK Parent text messages and RK Newsletter! We use these services to update and inform our parents.

Every Sunday we will send out a text with what we talked about that morning in kids worship for you to use to start conversation with a your child and a weekly email with the 411 on what’s going on with RISING Kids Ministry. RISING Kids looks forward to partnering with our parents to meet our children’s spiritual needs!
