All of our preschool through 5th graders will have their own version of “club” at RISING Weekend. We all start each session in the main Club room (Sawmill) with the adults and students. After an opening song and game together with everyone, the children will be released to Kids Club! Here a few things to note for the weekend:
As we mentioned, we’ll start our time in the main Club room (Sawmill). An announcement will be made from the stage when it is time for the children to leave. You are responsible for your children until this announcement is made.
Kid’s Club is located on the 3rd floor of Main Street. Pick-up will look slightly different after each session. We’ll try to make this clear during the weekend, but here’s a chart to give you a glimpse ahead of time:

Day Time We’ll Meet You…
Friday Night 10:00 PM At Kids Club (you come pick up)
Saturday Morning 12:15 PM At Kids Club (you come pick up)
Saturday Night 8:45 PM In the Club Room (we’ll come to you)
Sunday Morning 11:00 AM In the Club Room (we’ll come to you)

Our StudyIn Kids Club this year we will be learning about what the Bible says about friendship. We will learn what a Godly friendship looks like, how to be a good friend, and how to pick your friends. We will make some fun crafts, sing some new worship songs and do other activities that will help them to learn about the biblical meaning of friendship. It’s going to be so much fun!
We will have light snacks in some of the Kids Club sessions over the weekend. We do not want them to ruin any meals by filling up on snacks, but we also do not want any “hangry” campers!
5th & 6th Graders
Our 5th & 6th graders have the opportunity to attend Club with students and adults or serve in Kids Club as student leaders working with our preschoolers. If they choose to serve with us, we will meet with them during Kids Club on Friday evening to talk discuss what being a student leader means and what their expectations are. This is a great opportunity for 5th and 6th graders to begin developing their leadership skills.  Please discuss these 2 options (attending Club or serving in Kids Club) with your 5th/6th grader. Talk with them about the responsibility of leading by example, and let us know what they would prefer. They can always change their mind, but our “training” will take place on Friday evening.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our Children’s Director, Kelly Phillips.
We are excited for a great weekend and can’t wait to see you at camp!

If you have one or more children who are under the age of three (and/or not potty trained) then you are in the right place! Our goal for the nursery area at RISING Weekend is to allow you, as a family and as adults, plenty of time and space to enjoy the weekend, while providing a fun place for your littlest ones to play and rest.
Before You Arrive
Please fill out our Nursery Schedule Form for each child. This will give us an idea of when your child will be with us and if they need to nap. (See below for a schedule for the weekend.) Please complete this before arriving at camp so we can be well prepared for the weekend!
We’ll be in touch once you fill out the form to ask any questions for clarification and make sure we’re all on the same page.
What To Bring
In addition to the basic things your children will need, we’d love for you bring a bag to stay in the nursery the whole weekend. This should include things like a change of clothes, plenty of diapers, a reusable cup, etc. Here’s a list for your reference!
When You Get There
Our nursery will be in Lookout lodge which is at the top of camp! It’s a steep hill up and a steep hill down. If you have a golf cart, add it to your packing list, otherwise, a stroller and/or baby carrier will be a good idea. You can drop off your Camp Bag any time after you arrive.
Each time you drop your children off you can leave us with instructions. If you’d like your child to go to sleep at any time while the nursery is open, we are happy to help with that and can keep an eye on your baby monitor. Otherwise, you can expect that we’ll be playing, learning and snacking!
Nursery Schedule
Exact times may change slightly but here is the general schedule for when the nursery will be open for business:

Day Time During….
Friday Night 7:40 – 10:15 PM Club #1
Saturday Morning* 8:30 AM – 12:15 PM Small Group Activity & Club #4
Saturday Night 6:45 – 9:00 PM Club #3
Sunday Morning 9:15 – 11:15 AM Club #4

*We will plan to meet you at the dining hall for lunch on Saturday. We’ll save you a trip up the hill!
Want to Help?
We are still looking for volunteers! If you would like to serve a shift over the weekend in our nursery, please let me know and we will send you the sign-up sheet. We’d love to have you!
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out directly to our Nursery Coordinator, Paige Atkins.
We can’t wait to see you there!

RISING Weekend

By | Events, Kids Page | No Comments

RISING Weekend is an all-church weekend retreat to get away from the craziness of our everyday lives and create some time and space for us to connect with God, our families, and one another. Our theme this year is “We are Family”, and the reality is unless we set aside time and space to connect with one another on a deeper level, we’ll never feel like a true family. So we want everyone who calls RISING Church home to carve this weekend out of their busy schedules so we can all get away together and have that necessary time and space to become a family. We want to go from friends and acquaintances to brothers and sisters. This won’t be hard to do as we laugh and play together enjoying everything that Young Life’s Carolina Point has to offer, from the delicious food, to the top-notch deluxe accommodations, to the amazing programming & free-time activities, to the times of worship and teaching. All of this in the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains only a 2-hour drive from Gwinnett County. RISING Weekend is for all of us, age 0-100: kids, youth, college students, young adults, singles, married, empty nesters, and everything in-between. RISING Church Volunteer Opportunities

By | Registration | No Comments

If you haven’t had a chance to turn in a volunteer commitment card for next school year (starting in August), this is the website post for you.

If RISING is going to be the church God has called us to be, we need everyone to play a part! Everyone needs to serve faithfully and sacrificially, whether that be as a greeter, a parking team member, part of the muscle team, volunteering in the kids or youth program, providing meals, helping plan community events, leading us in worship, being a prayer warrior, serving behind the scenes, or any of the other areas listed above. We can’t be a church without you playing a part! Volunteer cards will be available at the “Got Questions?” table in the lobby every Sunday, or you can fill out your information online by clicking the button below. Thanks for being a church with us! If you have any please contact our Associate Pastor, Lori Cotter.
