EMERGE is still on for this summer, it is just coming a little later than usual. This ‘rite of passage’ event is geared towards our incoming 6th graders as their first big experience with SURGE. It is also one of the first opportunities our rising senior leaders will have to connect with our middle schoolers! It is a great time for the students to dive into the Word and for relationships to be built that will carry on into the school year.
EMERGE will take place on the dates of July 13th-17th and will mostly be held at the YoungLife Farm from 5-9PM. On the nights spent at the YL Farm, we will have a water/messy games night, a cookout, and so much more. However, on Thursday the 16th we will head up to North Carolina for an overnight trip and go white water rafting down the Nantahala River! Along with all of the fun activities, we will be spending time together in worship and small groups in an effort to cultivate a deeper and more vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.

An email with a more specific itinerary will be sent out closer to EMERGE.

Date: July 13th-17th
Location: YoungLife Farm
Time: 5-9 pm
Cost: $80 *Partial scholarship is available on an as needed basis please reach out to me for more information if needed.

Wild Wednesday’s

By Events No Comments

Over the past few weeks, the RISING Students team has been sitting down to ask themselves the question, “What will make this Summer (COVID and all) the most memorable Summer possible?”. We decided that when memorable Summers come to mind, it really boils down to three things:

1) Adventure…
2) With Your Best Friends…
3) Doing New and Exciting Things!

That’s why we decided on WILD WEDNESDAY’S! Every week we’re around this Summer we’ll be taking ALTAER and RISING College on an outdoor adventure somewhere in North Georgia. Hiking, Swimming, Tubing, Exploring; we want all the adventure! These will be low-structure, low-cost outings that will also strike a balance in between extreme fun and mild-to-moderate physical strenuousness in order to make these outings as approachable and inclusive as possible, regardless of outdoors experience/physical capability. Our RISING Students team just so happens to be thoroughly experienced and competent across a broad range of outdoor skills and proficiencies and will be prepared to make sure SAFE fun is a top priority.

Speaking of safety, please make sure you have your student’s 2020 medical release form filled out and up to date!

Weekly details will be sent out on Instagram, as well as the ALTAER and RISING College GroupMe channels, so be on the lookout!

Schedule for July:
JULY 8th: Chattooga River Beach Day
JULY 15th: Water Games Field Day @ the YL Farm
JULY 22nd: Hike to the top of Georgia’s 2nd Highest Point (Rabun Bald)
JULY 29th: Whitewater Rafting Excursion on the Ocoee River (Registration Required – Opening July 6th)

Date: Every Wednesday starting June 10th

Time: Varies depending on the activity
Cost: Free or low cost
